Keri Ford “Blooms” another great book!

August 30, 2012 » Written under Give away, Guest Blogger

Today I’ve got my critique partner, Keri Ford, on my blog. She’s got a brand new release, book two in her Rough Riders series, and she’s chatting it up. I mean, can you guys just look at that cover? Yum! So let’s see what Keri has to say, and then she’s got a give away for you!

Thanks Jeanette for having me here today and for letting me talk about my latest release, Rough Play.

The book I’m giving away today is titled Bloom and I love that title. When I think of Bloom, I think of something opening. Something new and fresh. Such as a first romance. That blooming of sweetness.

I tell my husband I fell for him the night we met. There was just something about that fall, September night. The air was crisp. Jr. High football was on the field and he was adorable. Frustrating at first because he was so shy, but the more we talked and sat with each other, the more the romance started.

I asked my husband once when he knew I was the one. His answer? That time he had the stomach virus and I sat with him all afternoon. Romantic, no?

When you look at the blurb for Rough Play you probably won’t see this romance coming though, but it’s there. It’s actually really strong. Jacob and Flora start out in a sexual relationship, but their romance comes out of that. It opens it ways that neither expect. One is taken by surprise and the other just flows with it and watches what happens.

Leave me a comment and tell me about that blush of a romance. Where were you when you were falling in love? Or what have you dreamed that moment would be like? One commenter will be selected to win a copy of Julia A Lindsey’s Bloom. See Julia at her website, Facebook, and twitter.

Rough Play, second in The Roughnecks Series, is now available!

Jacob Iverson has plans. Distant plans, but they do exist. Find the right woman, eventually settle down and do the whole “white picket fence” routine. But until eventually comes, he’s having fun with right now. Then he meets Flora, who blows him back a step. Or two. Suddenly his distant plans are rushing up to meet him…only not quite the way he imagined.

Abandoned at seventeen, Flora Simms has made her way through the world, found life and family in the form of two best friends. Everything is just the way she likes it. From life to love to relationships, she knows what she wants, how she wants it, and doesn’t care if anyone agrees or not. And what she doesn’t want is someone trying to tie her down with long-term plans. But Jacob Iverson brings images of the future to her mind, and heart. Jacob somehow knows what she needs and he’s hitting all the right spots. But can Flora give up her idea of independence to let him in?

I can’t recognize a single moment. There were so many things. I do know that the day I met him I noticed he literally seemed to be brighter than everyone around him. Like somehow he was illuminated. I guess that was just fate’s way of making sure I wasn’t too much of an idiot to notice him haha.
