Another year older

Me! That’s right, I turned 28 this past weekend. Sadly my husband had drill or he would have celebrated the event with me. That would make 9 birthdays out of 10 since we’ve been together that he’s missed. Poor guy, he always takes it way harder than I do. I’m not a big birthday person myself. Plus, he’s taking me to a concert I’ve been dying to go to this coming weekend. So all is forgiven. haha

Along with my birthday is always the reminder that Christmas is around the corner! Eep! I’m almost done with gift shopping, now I just have to wrap them all up. That’s the tricky part.

I also managed to finish the first draft of Duty Calls, which is the second book of the Semper Fi series! WHOOP! This one is scheduled for January 2013. Seems forever away, but it’s really not. It needs a lot of cleaning up, all of my first drafts do. But as the undeniable queen of romance, Nora Roberts, once said… You can’t fix a blank page. And I agree.

Now while I let that settle down a little, I’ve got something else I’m working on while I plot out the third book of my Semper Fi series. I always need a few weeks away before I can go back to edit. Gives me the clarity I need to see the book again with fresh eyes. I’m really excited to tell you all about this new project. But you’ll have to wait until the new year. Sorry!

I hope you all get your Christmas shopping done with as little stress as possible, and remember to take a minute to BREATHE! This is our first year playing Santa Claus for our daughter, so we’re extra excited for that new challenge.
